From 2026, a pension supplement for caregiving will be introduced in Ukraine: who will receive 50 hryvnias

Introduction of New Pension Supplements in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: Starting from 2026, Ukraine plans to provide a pension supplement for caregiving amounting to 50 hryvnias for certain categories of citizens. The relevant initiative is enshrined in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 654. This supplement will be available to:

• persons with disabilities of Group I,
• single citizens with disabilities of Group II,
• single people with disabilities of Group III of pension age,
• single retirees by age or length of service.

Furthermore, an additional payment of 6500 hryvnias for the most vulnerable segments of the population is planned for 2025-2026. To receive this aid, an application must be submitted by December 17 of the current year. It is worth noting that the pension amount should not exceed four living wage minimums for non-working individuals, including the caregiving supplement of 50 hryvnias.

Social Support for Vulnerable Categories

Thus, the new measures aim to support socially vulnerable categories of citizens by providing them with additional financial resources amid increased needs.

The introduction of these innovations indicates the Ukrainian government's efforts to improve the financial situation of the most vulnerable population segments.

Raising social support may become an important step in overcoming poverty among people with disabilities and retirees who self-sustain in difficult conditions. The implementation of such initiatives may also reflect the overall direction of the state towards social responsibility and support for citizens who need it the most.
