No more behind the wheel: what age restrictions await Ukrainian drivers
According to hvylya.net: Currently, there is no upper age limit for obtaining a driver's license in Ukraine. However, bill No. 8082 may change this situation. According to it, drivers over 65 will be required to undergo medical and psychological tests when renewing their driver's licenses.
The bill proposes to increase the frequency of checks for drivers aged 70 and 75, which is explained by natural age-related changes such as slowed reaction times and impaired vision. This is aimed at raising the standards of driver qualification in Ukraine.
Currently, there are only minimal age restrictions for obtaining driver's licenses in our country, but the bill also proposes to shorten the validity period of driving licenses. These changes are part of the European integration reform in the field of road traffic in Ukraine.
The changes proposed by the bill could be a step towards improving road safety and enhancing driver qualifications, which aligns with European standards. This may help resolve the issue of road traffic in Ukraine in accordance with international requirements.
