The defense industry of Ukraine has increased 35 times in three years of war: how it has changed the army
According to Мін. Оборони: During the years of full-scale war, the Ukrainian defense industry has become one of the key factors of resilience. This has been made possible by the persistent work of Ukrainian military manufacturers, support from partners, modernization of production, and improved cooperation between the army and industry. And here is the result: production has increased 35 times – from $1 billion in 2022 to $35 billion in 2025. This means more weapons, technologies, engineering, and capabilities for the front.
This was stated by Anna Hvozdiyar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, during the 8th German-Ukrainian Business Forum "Resilience in Action – Partnership in Development" in Berlin. In her speech, she emphasized that European and global security is based on cooperation among allies. Only joint, operational, and effective actions of defense industries can respond to Russian aggression.
Development of Air Defense Systems
One of the priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and its partners is the development of air defense systems, particularly the search for mass and affordable solutions to counter Russian drones.
The Ukrainian defense industry plays an important role in ensuring the country's resilience during the war. Over the years of conflict, the military industry has grown more than 30 times, allowing the provision of necessary resources and technologies to the Ukrainian army to defend national interests.
