Applications for the CUKR card in Poland can be submitted starting May 4: how to do it

A new document submission system for foreigners is being launched in Poland. Starting May 4, 2026, Ukrainians will be able to submit applications for the CUKR card exclusively in electronic format through a special portal. This is reported by inPoland.

On April 27, the MOS portal will start operating, through which document submissions for residence in Poland will occur. From this date onwards, all applications for temporary and permanent residence will only be accepted online.

Applications for the CUKR card can be submitted starting May 4, 2026. It is intended for Ukrainians who previously had temporary protection status.

Main application conditions:

• availability of PESEL UKR status

• application submission exclusively through the MOS portal

• no possibility to submit paper documents after the system is launched.

Submitting an application for the CUKR card: important deadlines

Foreigners whose legal stay expires before the portal launches are advised not to delay.

Important dates:

• by April 26, 2026 - the deadline for submitting paper applications

• from April 27 - launch of the MOS portal

• from May 4 - start of applications for the CUKR card.

Polish authorities emphasize: if a paper application arrives after April 26, it will not be considered, even if it was sent earlier.

The new system is expected to simplify the process but will require applicants to carefully adhere to deadlines and submission rules.
