Artem Babinsky: Honoring a Fallen Defender's Life and Sacrifice in the Luhansk Sector

According to Главком: Ukrainian defender Artem Babinsky was killed in action on December 5, 2024. He is remembered alongside all those whose lives have been taken by the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. Babinsky was born on April 5, 1995, in the village of Netrebivka, Vinnytsia Oblast. From a young age, he was dedicated to his studies and service, first graduating from the Netrebivka Gymnasium, a branch of the Tomashpil Lyceum, and later studying at the Vinnytsia Financial and Economic University.

The Military Service of Artem Babinsky

He began his military career at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy. Babinsky served in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) as part of the 131st Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. In 2024, he was engaged in combat operations in the Luhansk sector, defending his country as a member of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The fighting in eastern Ukraine has been some of the most intense and protracted of the conflict.

Artem Babinsky was decorated for his bravery and dedication. His awards include:

Artem Babinsky was laid to rest on January 19, 2026, in field No. 87 for honorable burials at Lychakiv Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, wife, parents, and sister, who remember him as a hero who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
