A Tragic Loss for Ukraine's Defense

According to Главком: Ukraine has lost another defender in its ongoing war. Dmytro Tsaryk was killed in action on February 18, 2026, a devastating loss for his family and community. He was born on August 1, 1991, in the village of Mniv, Chernihiv region. After living in the settlement of Lisove from 1994, he later moved to the city of Slavutych.

Tsaryk graduated from School No. 2 in Slavutych and qualified as an electrician at the Slavutych branch of the National Pedagogical Drahomanov University. Following his studies, he worked for local municipal construction organizations. In January 2025, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served as an operator of unmanned aerial vehicle complexes on the Pokrovsk front.

Farewell and Remembrance

A farewell ceremony for Dmytro Tsaryk was held on February 23, 2026, at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Perpetual Help' in Slavutych. The city declared that same day a Day of Mourning. He is survived by:

  • His mother, Svitlana Stepanivna
  • His son, Yehor
  • His stepfather, Viktor Ivanovych
  • His brothers, Oleksandr and Vitalii

His death is a profound grief for all who knew and loved him.

The death of Dmytro Tsaryk is a stark reminder of the human cost of the protracted war in Ukraine, which continues to claim the lives of young people defending their nation.
