Budanov on the Oreshnik missile: why Ukraine will not be able to intercept it

According to hvylya.net: Head of Ukraine's military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov in an interview for Apostrof spoke about the 'Oreshnik' missile and Russia's rearmament program.

Budanov confirmed the reality of Russian weaponry: 'This is not a psychological operation. This is a real existing weapon.'

According to the head of GUR, the 'Oreshnik' missile (project 'Kedr') is a medium-range ballistic missile with hypersonic characteristics. 'Unfortunately, this is quite serious weaponry, a serious threat to us. We will not be able to intercept it,' he added.

Regarding the possibility of deploying the missile in Belarus, Budanov expressed doubts: 'Russia can launch missiles from its territory without worrying about placing them in Belarus.' As for the ability of Europe or the USA to intercept the 'Oreshnik', he noted: 'Theoretically, one could try, but the result is unknown.'

Russia's rearmament program: a long-term threat

Budanov emphasized the importance of understanding the long-term nature of the threat posed by Russia's rearmament program. 'If you don't feed your army, you have to feed someone else's,' he stressed.

It is worth recalling that on the night of September 7, Russia carried out the largest airstrike against Ukraine during the war.
