Shelling in Zhytomyr: Shahed hit an apartment with a squirrel

According to glavcom.ua: On December 23, Russian forces shelled peaceful cities in Ukraine, including Zhytomyr. Fragments of the Russian Shahed struck the apartment of Anton Vakulenko, where his pet squirrel was located.

Anton Vakulenko reported that this incident occurred in the morning during intense shelling. 'Today is not a good day: this thing from the Shahed hit the children's room, the size of my foot. And the motor from the Shahed landed on the balcony,' the man shared.

The Vakulenko family managed to escape to a safe place during the shelling. Natalia Vakulenko, with the children, moved to another room after the explosion. Fortunately, none of them were injured.

'We are all safe - it ended without injuries. The most affected was our squirrel, which we brought to the children's room at night to keep it from being disruptive, as it is a nocturnal animal. But this box that flew into the children's room bombed the cage. But the squirrel is alive, and it is fine,' Anton Vakulenko recounted.

It is worth noting that the day before, Russian forces attacked the Zhytomyr region. Several impacts and falls of fragments of cruise missiles and kamikaze drones were recorded in the area, resulting in injuries and the death of a child born in 2021.

As a result of the shelling in Zhytomyr, a Shahed, the size of a human leg, and the motor from the Shahed hit a resident's children's room, and the incident fortunately resulted without casualties among the apartment residents.
