Pension reform until 2028: how many years of service are needed to retire
Ukraine is reforming its pension legislation, gradually increasing the requirements for insurance experience to receive a pension. The detailed plan until 2028 envisages increasing the minimum service period for different categories of pensioners annually.
Currently, to receive a pension at the age of 60, Ukrainians must have at least 32 years of service. But this is just the beginning, as the requirements will become even stricter in the future. For example, in 2026, 60-year-old pensioners will need 33 years of service, and at 63 years old – 23 years.
Regarding early retirement, such an opportunity is provided for some social categories of citizens, such as individuals with pituitary dwarfism or mothers of large families. The pension system reform applies to everyone and prepares Ukrainians for new requirements and conditions for receiving a decent pension in the future.
