Zaluzhnyi accuses Zelensky of failure in the counteroffensive: what is happening
According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi publicly accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of the failure of the counteroffensive in 2023. Zaluzhnyi stated that the operation was poorly prepared:
“The forces were stretched, there were no resources, and so on. But he led this counteroffensive, despite everything.” – Valerii Zaluzhnyi
In response, Zelensky had previously spoken critically of Zaluzhnyi, accusing him of failing to obtain the necessary weapons from partners.
Discussion of new security architecture
This public spat occurs against the backdrop of discussions on a new security architecture. According to Zelensky, the USA, Russia, and several European countries are negotiating a new agreement between the Russian Federation and NATO. The EU is providing Ukraine with economic assistance of 90 billion euros, of which 60 billion is non-military assistance. At the same time, approximately 18 billion euros of this amount will remain in EU countries over the next two years.
Among European leaders who have spoken about dialogue with Russia are:
- French President Macron,
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz,
- Italian Prime Minister Meloni.
