Introducing a New Employment Service in the Diia App

According to Мінцифра: The Diia app has unveiled its first employment-related feature-horizon.Job-a dedicated section offering an online job termination service specifically for individuals residing in temporarily occupied territories (TOT). This innovation allows Ukrainians to submit resignation requests remotely, eliminating the need for direct communication with employers or travel to official offices. This digital solution significantly simplifies the resignation process for those facing challenging circumstances in occupied regions.

Users can access the resignation service by navigating to Services > horizon.Job > Job Termination in TOT within the Diia app. Applications are processed within one business day through the horizon system, developed collaboratively by Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy and Environment and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The platform is managed and maintained by the State Employment Service, ensuring reliable operation and support.

International Partners Supporting the Initiative

This project benefits from the backing of several international partners, including:

  • The 'Partnership for a Strong Ukraine' (PFRU) program, funded by the governments of the UK, Estonia, Canada, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden.
  • The 'Digitalization for Growth, Integrity, and Transparency' (UK DIGIT) initiative, financed by UK International Development and implemented by the Eurasia Foundation.
  • Google, which also contributes support to the project.

The Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) acts as the executive partner in carrying out this initiative.

Looking ahead, plans are underway to expand digital employment services to include training grants and support for professional retraining. This demonstrates the Ukrainian government's commitment to enhancing access and effectiveness of services for citizens seeking new opportunities amid ongoing challenges.

The launch of horizon.Job within the Diia app marks a crucial advancement in improving conditions for Ukrainians living in temporarily occupied territories.

Given the country’s complex situation, this initiative provides vital access to essential services, offering much-needed relief to affected individuals. The focus on digital employment solutions reflects the government’s determination to adapt to evolving realities and deliver support to its citizens during these difficult times.
