Launch of trams and trolleybuses in Odesa: new deadlines
According to Oleksandr Filatov, the previously announced date - after February 20 - is no longer relevant. Due to the recent attacks on energy facilities, the launch of electric transport had to be postponed by about a month.
The official emphasized that the forecasts remain preliminary, as the situation directly depends on the intensity of shelling and the scale of new damages.
«If the shelling continues, and so far there is no reason to believe that it has ended, the situation will be adjusted depending on the state of the energy infrastructure», he noted.
Electric transport in Odesa: why the recovery is delayed
Electric transport in the city was halted in mid-December 2025 following one of the most massive attacks on energy facilities in the region. Since then, the movement of trams and trolleybuses has not been restored.
The city council previously reported that the priority for the energy system remains ensuring electricity supply:
- to the residential sector
- to critical infrastructure facilities.
Only after stabilizing the situation can the electric transport return to routes.
Let us remind you that in Kyiv, the launch of trams and trolleybuses on the right bank starts on February 26, 2026.
