Updated Salaries for Ukrainian Educators

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian teachers began receiving updated salaries this week. As of January 1, 2026, the base salaries for school teachers have increased by 30%. This pay rise represents a significant step toward ensuring decent working conditions for educators. All teachers will continue to receive a supplement of 2,000 hryvnias, while those working in frontline communities will receive an increased supplement of 4,000 hryvnias.

Future Salary Increase Plans

A further salary increase of 20% for all categories of teaching staff is planned for September 1, 2026. The funding for the new salary scales comes from the state educational subvention and additional payments from local budgets. The Ministry of Education and Science, together with the heads of regional military administrations, has been instructed to monitor the payment process in every region.
