Ukraine Reforms Internats by 2034: What Will Change for 47 Thousand People
At the Forum 'The European Future of Ukraine in the Field of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities', Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Inna Solodka emphasized that equal access to support and services is the foundation of Ukraine's European future.
Currently, over 47 thousand people live in institutional facilities where their rights are often violated. Therefore, an important part of the changes is the implementation of the Strategy for the Reform of Institutional Facilities and De-institutionalization by 2034, which complies with European standards.
The main goal is to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to receive necessary services in their community. This will not only contribute to the development of society but also reduce isolation and provide more opportunities for all citizens.
Support and services should be accessible to every person, which is an important step on Ukraine's path to European development.
