According to Главком: Ukraine’s national men’s basketball team delivered a commanding performance against Georgia in a 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying match held in Riga, winning 95-76. The victory secured their early advancement to the second round of the qualification process.

Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk was the standout player, scoring a game-high 28 points. He knocked down five three-pointers and was perfect from the free-throw line, hitting all seven attempts. Oleksandr Kovliar also contributed significantly with 20 points, including four three-pointers. The full Ukrainian roster stats were as follows:

The first stage of qualifying will conclude with an away game against Denmark scheduled for July 5. Ukraine’s confident play has already guaranteed their place in the second stage of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers.
