Zelenskyy's Political Outreach

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has intensified his engagement with potential political rivals. This diplomatic activity follows a corruption scandal and renewed speculation about upcoming elections. The moves come in the wake of recent staffing changes within the President's Office, sparking widespread discussion among political analysts and the public.

Zelenskyy notably held talks with Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to a poll by the Socis company, Zaluzhnyi would receive approximately 21% of the vote and is considered one of the president's main competitors. In contrast, the new head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, has less than 6% support, while Serhii Prytula has around 1.5%.

Zelenskyy's Potential Challengers

These meetings with potential opponents became possible after the dismissal of Andrii Yermak in late 2025, which was prompted by a corruption scandal. Other potential rivals to Zelenskyy include Serhii Sternenko and Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Zelenskyy currently maintains a narrow lead over Zaluzhnyi, highlighting the tense political climate in the country. His intensified outreach to rivals is widely seen as an attempt to shore up his position ahead of possible elections. The political shifts at Bankova Street, the location of the presidential administration, continue to draw close scrutiny from experts and media.

Against a backdrop of rising political tension in Ukraine, Zelenskyy's increased contact with his potential rivals signals a strategic approach to managing the situation. The nation's political landscape remains highly dynamic, and forthcoming events could significantly alter its trajectory.
