New Civilian Role for Military Personnel Added by Zelenskyy

According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has amended a decree governing civilian positions for military personnel, introducing the role of head of the Nikopol District State Administration in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The decree applies to roles within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies, and other military formations. Signed as document number 412/2026, it was officially released on May 19, 2026. This move is part of broader efforts to streamline governance and address staffing needs across state institutions.

The amendment followed a mention of a deputy head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration. The legal act takes effect from the date of its official publication. Zelenskyy held a meeting with government officials and members of parliament to discuss pending personnel issues that require resolution.

Additionally, Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha agreed on staffing changes within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic corps. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will soon implement changes at the level of deputy ministers.
