According to ХВИЛЯ: President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to review the rules of the curfew and commented on the appointment of Denys Shmyhal as Minister of Energy. The statement was made on January 14 and concerns the difficult situation in the energy sector, which has worsened due to Russian strikes and winter weather.
Zelensky noted that the most difficult situation in the energy sector is observed in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Kryvyi Rih. In this regard, the president emphasized the need for:
- legal fixation of the emergency situation in the energy sector;
- maximum simplification of connecting backup equipment to the grid;
- increased electricity imports;
- expansion of the network of Resilience Points.
Denys Shmyhal was appointed as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Kyiv had unfortunately done significantly less in this situation and expressed hope for energetic work from the American side. The first priority of Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov is sky defense.

The situation in the Ukrainian energy sector remains critical, especially in the context of winter frosts and constant attacks from Russia.
