Ukrainian President Meets UK Prime Minister at G7 Summit

• intensifying economic pressure on Russia;
• imposing fresh sanctions targeting Russia's energy sector;
• measures to strip the Kremlin of its ability to operate a shadow fleet.

Following the meeting, the United Kingdom announced a new package of energy-related sanctions aimed at shadow fleet vessels and networks that facilitate the circumvention of existing restrictions.

Strike on the Dormition Cathedral

Amid these diplomatic efforts, Russia launched another overnight attack on Ukraine, focusing its strikes on Kyiv. One of the targets was the Dormition Cathedral within the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A direct hit caused a massive fire that severely damaged the cathedral’s roof.
