According to a social media post by Zelenskyy, the Oval Office discussions covered key topics including licenses to manufacture Patriot interceptor missiles. The Ukrainian leader noted that diplomacy was also addressed, and the teams from both countries will finalize the details of further communication.

Senior US Officials to Travel to Kyiv

At the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump promised Ukraine a license to produce Patriot missiles, while also praising the country’s drone campaign against Russian energy infrastructure. In light of these developments, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner have agreed to make their first-ever trip to Kyiv. Zelenskyy remarked that:

“President Trump wants to be where success happens. That ties into many factors - not just his personality, but also the upcoming elections.”

Far-right activist Laura Loomer recently visited Kyiv, meeting with Zelenskyy and other high-ranking officials. Ukrainian authorities discovered a birth certificate for Loomer’s great-grandfather, Pinkus Loomer, who was born in Vinnytsia in 1895. Loomer has claimed that Russian propaganda misled influential figures on the American right. Meanwhile, Ukraine suffered a tragedy: on July 11, Senator Lindsey Graham passed away suddenly after returning from Kyiv, his tenth visit since the full-scale invasion began. Zelenskyy attended a memorial service for Graham. Trump shared Loomer’s interview with Zelenskyy on his social media platform with the caption “Very good!!!”

Graham’s death may encourage Trump to visit Kyiv and revive a bill imposing sanctions on Russia. These events continue to shape US-Ukraine diplomatic relations, particularly regarding security and support amid the ongoing aggression.
