Ukrainian and U.S. Presidents Meet at the G7 Summit

According to Главком: On the sidelines of the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting. Their main focus was aligning strategies to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to a close. Also present were U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov.

Trump has previously stated that after reaching a peace deal with Iran, ending the war in Ukraine is his top foreign policy priority. The U.S. president noted that both Kyiv and Moscow appear open to dialogue. Leaders from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are actively urging Trump to develop a unified approach that builds on Ukraine’s battlefield gains.

Aligning Positions to Resolve the Conflict

During the meeting, Zelenskyy emphasized:

“It is always important to coordinate positions”
