According to Главком: On the sidelines of the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting. Their main focus was aligning strategies to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to a close. Also present were U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov.

Trump has previously stated that after reaching a peace deal with Iran, ending the war in Ukraine is his top foreign policy priority. The U.S. president noted that both Kyiv and Moscow appear open to dialogue.
