Ukrainian President Meets with Greek Prime Minister

According to Главком: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, held discussions with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on battlefield developments, Ukraine’s European integration, and military support. Zelenskyy briefed his Greek counterpart on the current front-line situation and the impact of Russian strikes on cities and civilian infrastructure. The conversation highlighted outcomes from the G7 summit, as well as security agreements and ongoing international diplomatic efforts. This meeting comes amid intensified Russian missile campaigns, underscoring the urgency of bolstering Ukraine’s defenses.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Greece for its military assistance and participation in the PURL program. A central topic was strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, particularly expanding its anti-ballistic missile capabilities. The President emphasized that

“expanding Ukraine’s anti-ballistic capabilities remains especially critical given the constant Russian missile attacks.”

He also noted that after the opening of the first negotiation cluster, Kyiv expects talks on the remaining five clusters to begin as soon as possible.

Ukraine’s Diplomatic Push

Earlier, Zelenskyy had an audience with King Philippe of Belgium, where they discussed the consequences of shelling, tightening sanctions against Russia, and Europe’s role in negotiations. These issues remain vital as Ukraine seeks continued military support and stronger sanctions pressure on Moscow. Both meetings reflect Ukraine’s intensified diplomatic efforts to achieve peace amid the ongoing conflict.

Zelenskyy’s engagements with leaders like the Greek Prime Minister and the Belgian King underscore the importance of diplomacy in resolving the conflict and securing backing from European partners. The focus on military aid and air defense enhancements highlights the severity of the front-line situation and the need to prepare for new challenges. These talks may also influence future decisions on sanctions and international support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

As Ukraine continues to strengthen its military capabilities amidst ongoing threats, the recent discussions between Zelenskyy and Nordic and Baltic leaders have also underscored the importance of international cooperation. In particular, the focus on a new drone deal aims to enhance Ukraine's defense strategy.
