New Drone Campaign Declared

According to ХВИЛЯ: On June 25, Volodymyr Zelensky unveiled a fresh drone offensive in Ukraine, which experts believe may be an effort to push Russia toward negotiations. Ukrainian forces are striking oil refineries inside Russia, as well as key infrastructure such as roads, bridges, railways, and ferries in Crimea. Over the past three months, more than 70 Russian air defense systems have been destroyed, significantly weakening Moscow's capabilities.

Frontline Dynamics and Russia's Internal Strains

As fighting intensifies in Ukraine, truck traffic on the R-280 highway from Mariupol to Crimea has plummeted by 71%. Meanwhile, over a dozen Russian regions have introduced fuel rationing, signaling growing supply issues. The pace of Russia's advance in Donbas has slowed, with ongoing battles in Kostiantynivka, near Kramatorsk, and around Sloviansk.

The size of the Russian force in Ukraine stands at 721,300 personnel-3,000 fewer than at the start of the year. Russia is now launching up to 90 missiles and 300 guided aerial bombs per day, reflecting the intensity of its operations. Zelensky also set a 40-day deadline, which many view as political theater.

Major Yevgen Karas: 'The moment we realized we had a chance came when we saw how many air defense systems we were destroying.'

However, sources in Ukrainian intelligence caution: 'They have problems, but it's not decisive yet.' A commander of an elite special forces unit also expressed skepticism, stating: 'I see no signs that the enemy is close to collapse.'

On June 26, Russia's appointed official in occupied Crimea declared a state of emergency, indicating rising tensions in the region. Amid active combat, Ukrainian forces continue to strengthen their positions and strike strategically important enemy targets.

Recent developments point to an escalation in the conflict and growing pressure on Russia, which could influence the trajectory of future negotiations. At the same time, the drop in freight traffic and fuel rationing in Russia highlight internal hardships the country faces during active warfare. This situation underscores the importance of strategic planning and adaptation for both sides as they confront new challenges on the battlefield.

As Ukraine's drone offensive escalates, the ramifications of long-range strikes deep within Russian territory are becoming increasingly evident. These actions not only aim to undermine Russia's military capabilities but also serve as a strategic move in the broader context of the conflict.
