Changes in the National Security and Defense Council

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed decree No. 501/2025, which approved the new personnel of the National Security and Defense Council. This decision is a logical continuation of the large-scale personnel reshuffles that have occurred in the government over the past weeks.

The NSDC is still headed by the President himself. Rustem Umerov has taken the position of Secretary. The updated composition includes key public officials, security forces, heads of intelligence agencies, and parliament.

The updated composition of the NSDC is as follows:

• President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky – Head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine;
• Herman Valeriyovych Haluschenko – Minister of Justice of Ukraine;
• Svetlana Vasylivna Grinchuk – Minister of Energy of Ukraine;
• Andrii Borysovych Yermak – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine;
• and others....

Earlier, Zelensky talked about the appointment of Shmyhal as Minister of Defense and the new priorities of the department.

By signing the new decree, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky continues to implement personnel changes in the government and key state structures, including important positions in the National Security and Defense Council. These changes have strategic significance for the state and its security system, which will be necessary to ensure stability and protect national interests.
