Zelensky updated the composition of the Staff: Budanov joined, Shmyhal resigned
Personnel changes in the security sector
According to Главком: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on updating the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff and personnel changes in the security sector. Decree No. 39/2026 provides for the introduction of new members to the Staff, including:
- Serhiy Boyev
- Kyril Budanov
- Oleh Ivashchenko
At the same time as these changes, Serhiy Deyneka was removed from the Staff. It is important to note that Kyrylo Budanov was also included in the personal composition of the National Security and Defense Council.
Resignations in the government
In addition, statements of resignation from Mykhailo Fedorov and Denys Shmyhal were submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. These personnel changes indicate an activation of processes in Ukrainian governance amid the current situation in the country.
The update of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff composition and personnel changes in the government demonstrate an attempt by the Ukrainian authorities to adapt to the challenges facing the country.
