Zelensky Receives Intel on New Oreshnik Strike Threat from Russia
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Calls for Concrete Action from Allies
According to Главком: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has urged international partners to move beyond expressions of solidarity and take tangible steps to raise the cost of war for the aggressor. He emphasized that allies should leverage every available means of influence, both publicly and through private channels.
“Concern and sympathy are not enough. We need concrete actions that increase the price of war for the aggressor right now. You have the levers of influence. Use them now. Warn Moscow about the price it will have to pay,” - Andrii Sybiha.
Preparations for a Potential Strike
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine has received intelligence from American and European partners regarding Russia's preparations to launch a strike using the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile. 'We gave permission for a parade, but there is no permission for madness in Russia. We received data, including from American and European partners, about the Russians preparing a strike using the Oreshnik. We are verifying this information,' Zelensky stated.
Amid the escalating situation, the president called on citizens to take air raid warnings seriously, stressing that the alert about a possible strike should be heard not only in Kyiv but first and foremost in Moscow. 'This must be a warning heard in Moscow-by the Russian regime,' Sybiha added.
He also highlighted the importance of preventive measures, noting that if Russia is allowed to destroy lives on such a scale, no agreement will be able to deter other similarly hate-driven regimes from aggression.
Given the gravity of these circumstances, Kyiv has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council following the previous Oreshnik missile strike on Ukraine. This move underscores Ukraine's ongoing efforts to secure international backing to curb Russian aggression and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
These statements reflect the continued tension in Ukrainian-Russian relations and the pressing need to intensify global efforts to counter aggression. Ukraine's response, including the push for a UN session, highlights the critical role of international support in ensuring the country's security amid the threat of military action. The global community must heed these calls and provide the necessary assistance to reduce the risks of conflict escalation and protect civilians.
As the situation intensifies, it's crucial to understand the broader implications of these developments. Recent reports indicate that Kyiv is preparing for a significant assault, highlighting the urgency of international response and the potential consequences of inaction. The interconnectedness of these events underscores the need for vigilance and proactive measures in the face of escalating threats.
