Ukrainian President's Diplomatic Tour of the Middle East

According to Главком: During a diplomatic tour of Middle Eastern states, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented intelligence to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Jordan. He detailed a pattern of systematic cooperation between Russia and Iran, alleging that Russia regularly supplies Iran with satellite imagery of regional targets and bolsters its military capabilities. This outreach comes as Ukraine seeks to build a broader international coalition against Russian aggression.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the intelligence he shared points to a continuous, institutionalized transfer of data, not isolated incidents.

“Russia is providing intelligence to Iran on a permanent basis, not just as part of a one-off event,”

he stated. Specifically, the Ukrainian president highlighted that Russia has furnished Iran with satellite images of American and British military bases, as well as critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and the UAE.

Implications for Regional Security

Zelenskyy also drew attention to the potential for Iran's use of attack drones to be informed by Russia's battlefield experience in Ukraine.

“In my opinion, Russia is directly supporting Iran 100%. It is the same model of information exchange as in Ukraine,”

he added. The president suggested that 'I see only benefits for Russia from continuing the war with Iran,' implying the Kremlin's interest in prolonging conflict in the Middle East to divert global attention and resources.

Zelenskyy's visit and the sharing of this sensitive intelligence underscore rising geopolitical tensions and the critical need for international cooperation to counter threats posed by the Russia-Iran partnership. This information about Russia's military support for Iran could significantly influence the security policies and foreign relations of Middle Eastern nations, particularly their engagements with Western allies. In this context, enhanced dialogue between Ukraine and regional powers may help strengthen the security posture of all involved parties against shared adversarial interests.

During this diplomatic engagement, Zelenskyy's focus on intelligence sharing highlights the broader context of military cooperation in the region. In light of these developments, Ukrainian military experts are also enhancing air defense systems in the UAE, further illustrating Ukraine's commitment to strengthening regional security against shared threats.
