This milestone highlights Ukraine’s advancing capabilities in developing indigenous defense technology.
Key Details About the FP-7 Missile
Introduced by the Fire Point company in 2025, the FP-7 missile underwent a successful ground-launched test flight in February 2026. Designed to strike ground targets up to 200 kilometers away, it carries a warhead weighing up to 150 kilograms. The missile boasts an accuracy radius of approximately 14 meters, travels at speeds reaching 1500 meters per second, and can reach altitudes as high as 65 kilometers during flight.
By September 2026, Fire Point confirmed that the FP-7 had entered military trials after completing comprehensive ground, laboratory, and flight testing phases. Fire Point’s CEO, Iryna Terekh, affirmed the success of these evaluations.
President Zelensky summarized: “Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile. FP-7. First combat use. Thank you for the results. Next – production. Glory to Ukraine.”
This first operational use of the FP-7 missile marks a significant step in Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to enhance its defense infrastructure amid escalating security challenges.
