Strikes Against Russian Oil Refineries

According to ХВИЛЯ: Deep strikes have become a key part of Ukraine's military strategy as the war grinds on. President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed overnight attacks on oil refineries in Bashkortostan and Yaroslavl Oblast, as well as operations by Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Black Sea. According to the president, the targets were more than 1,300 kilometers away from the frontline. In Bashkortostan, the Bashneft-Novoyl refinery was hit, while the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl Oblast-located roughly 700 kilometers from Ukraine's border-also suffered a strike. In the Black Sea, two military patrol boats and vessels from Russia's shadow fleet were also targeted.

In a social media post, the president wrote:

“Today our long-range sanctions have again worked to reduce Russia’s oil profits, the money it uses to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians.”

Zelensky also highlighted that Ukrainian forces delivered successful responses to Russian aggression in the Black Sea area.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Defense Forces soldiers who, in his words, “systematically expand our long-range capability and in doing so improve the chances for diplomacy.
