Speaking on the 1,435th day of the war, he stated that intelligence services are providing information on the threats facing the nation. Zelenskyy urged international partners, specifically the United States and Europe, to recognize how this impacts diplomatic negotiations. He emphasized that every Russian attack undermines efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict. This warning comes as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty against a full-scale invasion that began in February 2022.

Tragic Events in the Kyiv Region

On January 28, 2026, Russian forces killed a woman and a man inside their apartment in the Kyiv region. A 4-year-old child was successfully rescued from the scene. Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and thanked Radio Liberty journalist Marjan Kushnir for his bravery in saving the girl. The president also reported an attack on a civilian train, which was struck by Russian drones. On board was Sergeant Vladyslav Rozhkovskyi, call sign Omar, of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, who risked his own safety to try and help others during the assault.

In response to the intensifying attacks, Ukrzaliznytsia, the national railway, is implementing temporary restrictions on services to ensure passenger safety. The situation remains tense, with Ukrainian military forces continuing to fight against the enemy's aggression.
