The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed his greetings to the emergency workers of the State Emergency Service on their professional holiday. He posted his congratulations on social media, emphasizing the importance of rescuers for the country.

Today is a day for those who, despite everything, save lives and always come to the rescue. Our rescuers are among the first to arrive at the sites of Russian shelling, rescuing people from under the rubble, extinguishing fires, and providing support. We in Ukraine know that we can always count on help everywhere and always.

Zelensky also thanked all employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for their important mission of saving others. The President reminded of the rescuers who gave their lives helping and saving Ukrainians.

Tradition of greetings on Rescuer's Day

The Ukrainian Rescuer's Day has been celebrated since 2008, according to a decree by President Viktor Yushchenko. On this day, all those connected with emergency rescue services and civil protection are honored: firefighters, dog handlers, divers, as well as volunteers. On this occasion, the portal 'Glavkom' developed special greetings and postcards to thank these heroes for their courage and selflessness.

President Volodymyr Zelensky sincerely congratulated rescuers on their professional holiday, emphasizing their important role in the life of the country. He also reminded of those who gave their lives helping others and highlighted the significance of the work of these heroes for the benefit of Ukrainian society.
