According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has named Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while Ihor Skybyuk takes over as Chief of the General Staff. Zelenskyy announced the appointments via his Telegram channel. The new military leadership has been tasked with several critical objectives, including:
- strengthening air defense systems,
- enhancing the technological sophistication of defensive measures,
- and maintaining an active defense posture.
Meeting with International Allies
In Kyiv, President Zelenskyy also held talks with U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker and General Bazzard, the commander of the Alliance’s Special Mission. The discussions centered on the supply of missiles for Patriot systems, underscoring the ongoing cooperation between Ukraine and the United States amid the armed conflict.
Additionally, a Ukrainian delegation-including Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, and Serhiy Kyslytsya-negotiated with representatives of Donald Trump’s team, such as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The dialogue focused on reinvigorating diplomatic efforts, which could play a key role in future collaboration.
