The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed a new ambassador of the country to the United States - Olga Stefanishina. The news about this was published by the portal 'Hlavkom' referring to the evening address of the head of state.According to information, Zelensky and Stefanishina discussed the strategic tasks of the new mission, including the conclusion of important agreements with Washington, especially in the field of defense. It was also decided to express gratitude to the former ambassador Oksana Markarova for her significant diplomatic work.In his address, Zelensky emphasized that the long-term security of Ukraine depends on its relationship with America.Olga Stefanishina has significant experience in the field of jurisprudence and public administration, having risen from heading a department to the position of Deputy Prime Minister. Her work is also related to issues concerning European integration, making her an important figure in Ukrainian diplomacy. After the resignation of Prime Minister Shmyhal in July 2025, she left her positions in the government.
