Zelensky on the main priority: Ukraine needs new missiles for air defense
Address by Volodymyr Zelensky
According to ХВИЛЯ: Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for new missiles for the air defense (AD) of Ukraine in his evening address on January 11, 2023. He noted that this is the country's top priority amid the ongoing full-scale war. Zelensky also reported on the continuation of restoration works following the massive attack on energy infrastructure that took place on January 9.
Situation in the region
Almost 200 repair teams continue to work in the Kyiv region, engaging in the restoration of damaged facilities. The most challenging situation is observed in the cities:
- Brovary
- Vasylkiv
- Fastiv
- Boryspil
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is acting as constructively and quickly as possible, not wasting time, in contrast to Russia. He also noted that only through united efforts of Europe and the United States can the 'Russian madness' be stopped.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, 1418 days have passed, and during this time, Russian losses amount to at least 1000 killed per day since December. In such conditions, Ukraine critically needs new missiles to effectively ensure its security and defense capability.
The address of the President of Ukraine underscores the critical situation in which the country finds itself and the urgent need to strengthen its defense capability.
In the face of constant attacks on energy infrastructure, it is important not only to restore damaged facilities but also to provide modern air defense means to protect the population. The situation in Ukraine remains tense, and further support from international partners is critically important for stabilizing the situation in the region.
