Meeting of Volodymyr Zelensky with journalists

According to ХВИЛЯ: Volodymyr Zelensky met with journalists on December 11, where he discussed important issues of peace negotiations, territorial aspects, the fate of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP), and other key topics. During the meeting, the president stated that the peace negotiation plan had been reduced from 28 to 20 points, indicating progress in dialogue.

Main issues of the meeting

Zelensky noted that the economic plan will be worked on by:

  • Yulia Svyrydenko
  • Sobolev
  • Kachka
  • other specialists

He emphasized that issues regarding territories should be resolved by the Ukrainian people. The new document provides for the withdrawal of Russian troops from parts of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The number of Armed Forces of Ukraine is agreed upon at 800,000 military personnel, which is an important aspect for ensuring the country's defense capability.

Ukraine is actively working on attracting funding, aiming to receive $45-50 billion for the next year. Financing packages of $15-16 billion are expected through the PURL program. Negotiations regarding the peace plan have been ongoing for several weeks, and on December 10, Ukraine submitted a response to the latest draft of the peace plan to the Trump administration.

Regarding the fate of the ZNPP, Zelensky expressed concern, noting:

“The Russians want to keep the station for themselves. We said: if that happens, the station will not operate.”

The president also asked:

“If some troops are to withdraw while others remain where they are, what will prevent the Russian troops from moving further?”

Moreover, he expressed readiness to respond to signals from the United States regarding the elections, confirming his preparedness for this. Overall, the meeting on December 11 outlined further steps for Ukraine in the direction of peaceful conflict resolution, highlighting the importance of territorial issues and ensuring state security.

The meeting of the President of Ukraine with journalists was an important stage in the peace negotiation process, indicating gradual progress in dialogue with international partners. The reduction in the number of points in the peace plan reflects Ukraine's desire for constructive changes that could lead to the stabilization of the situation in the region. At the same time, security issues, especially around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, remain critically important, as their resolution affects not only Ukraine's energy security but also overall security in Europe.
