Interview of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

According to ХВИЛЯ: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Bret Baier of Fox News discussed important issues regarding American support, the situation on the front, and the risks of backdoor agreements with Russia. Negotiations with Donald Trump took place before this interview, and Trump expressed a promise to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours. Zelensky confirmed his willingness to consider Trump's proposals, but on the condition that they do not threaten Ukraine's sovereignty.

Ukraine's position on peace and military support

Zelensky emphasized that it is important to have a clear plan to end the war, but he stressed:

“It must be a peace plan, not capitulation.” - Volodymyr Zelensky

The President also noted that Russia suffers greater manpower losses than Ukraine. He called for preventing the freezing of the conflict, as, in his words, for Putin it would only be a pause to gather forces for a new attack.

Moreover, Zelensky stressed the necessity of receiving weapons from the USA to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. He stated:

“When we ask for long-range systems or aviation - it is not about ambitions, it is about the survival of the nation.” - Volodymyr Zelensky

The President also emphasized that supporting Ukraine is important not only for the country but also for protecting the world order and freedom:

  • “You are not just helping us. You are defending the world order and freedom.”

The interview with President Zelensky demonstrates Ukraine's critical stance on any potential peace agreements that may threaten its sovereignty. The importance of receiving military assistance from overseas underscores not only defensive needs but also the strategic context in which Ukraine seeks to maintain its independence and stability in the region. Given the ongoing conflict, support from the USA and other allies remains a key factor in ensuring Ukraine's security and preventing further aggression from Russia.
