President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the murder of former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy was meticulously planned. The head of state reported this in a video address, also noting that Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and Attorney General Ruslan Riaboshapka are investigating the circumstances of this crime.

On August 30 in Lviv, an unidentified assailant shot the former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, who was heading to a training session. The probable attacker approached him on an electric bike, fired, and fled. The Interior Minister and the Attorney General have already reported to the president about this tragic incident.
