Meeting of the President of Ukraine with Donald Trump
According to Главком: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the preparations for the meeting with the President of the United States Donald Trump, scheduled for December 28 in Florida. The main topics of this meeting will be:
- security guarantees;
- the fate of occupied territories;
- the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
It should be noted that on December 23, Zelensky gathered journalists for a closed meeting to discuss a peace agreement. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of security guarantees for Ukraine.
"But the most important thing that I would draw attention to today is the security guarantees,"
he stressed. The president also expressed concern about the insufficiency of air defense systems, stating:
"We lack additional air defense systems, and you can see that."
Zelensky also noted that legally Ukraine will not recognize any territorial changes under any circumstances:
"Legally, we will not recognize anything under any circumstances."
This indicates Ukraine's firm position regarding occupied territories. He also commented on Russia's reaction to Ukraine and the US's peace proposals, stating:
"Russia has shown how it reacts to Ukraine and the US's peaceful calls to end Russia's war against Ukraine."
