Zelensky on meeting with Putin: ready, but not in Moscow and not in Kyiv

According to ХВИЛЯ: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky gave an interview to the podcast The Rest is Politics and to Rai Radio correspondent Marco Barbonalye, in which he discussed a number of important issues regarding the cooperation between Russia and Iran, international support for Ukraine, negotiations with Russia, possible meetings with Putin, the situation in Donbas, elections, sanctions, and relations with Donald Trump. Zelensky noted that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but not in Moscow and not in Kyiv.

'I am ready to meet with Putin. Of course, not in Moscow and not in Kyiv. But if he is ready to meet with me, there are many places where this can be done. We can find such a place in the Middle East, in Europe, in the United States, anywhere'

– said Zelensky. He also reported that trilateral negotiations with Russia were postponed, indicating the complexity of the current situation.

Elections and International Support

Discussing the issue of elections in Ukraine, Zelensky emphasized that holding them at this moment is a violation of Ukrainian law.

'Holding elections now is against our law. Secondly, we must guarantee safety for people, soldiers, who must vote. How can we do that under attacks?'

– he noted. This statement points to the challenges the country faces amid an ongoing conflict.

Zelensky also spoke about the importance of support from international partners. He noted that Giorgia Meloni is a strong leader, and her voice is important for Ukraine.

'Giorgia Meloni is a strong leader not only across Europe but also in Brussels. She is one of the most outspoken voices, especially on the issue of aid to Ukraine. Today, it is necessary to unblock 90 billion in aid to our country. This depends on many voices, and Giorgia's voice is very important for us'

– he emphasized.

Regarding relations with Donald Trump, Zelensky noted that his relations with the former US president are positive.

'Who has a better relationship with Trump than I do? I think we have a good relationship because I am one of the few people who tells him what I think. Not many people can tell the President of the United States that he is not always right'
