Zelensky on Mindić: There Can Be No Friends in War
Zelensky on Communicating with Mindić
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he has not communicated with his former business partner from 'Kvartal 95', Timur Mindić, since the announcement of a corruption investigation. The president shared this in an interview with Bloomberg.
"The most important thing is the sentences for those people who are guilty," Zelensky said. "The president of a country that is at war cannot have friends."
Corruption Investigation
The company 'Kvartal 95' stated that the case of Timur Mindić is not related to the studio's work, its content, or its team. Timur Mindić is under investigation and has been added to the 'Myrotvorets' database due to his possible involvement in financial schemes that undermined the functioning of Ukraine's defense and energy sectors during the Russian-Belarusian aggression and martial law.
The NABU and SAP documented the activities of a criminal organization that included current and former officials in the energy sector, a prominent businessman, and others. Its members built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence the activities of strategic state-owned enterprises, including JSC 'NAEK Energoatom'.
News indicates that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky officially distances himself from former business partner Timur Mindić following the announcement of the corruption investigation, emphasizing the importance of justice and accountability for illegal actions. The investigation also concerns Mindić's case and his possible involvement in corruption schemes that harm Ukraine's national interests.
