Zelensky and Trump discussed the fate of Donbas: what is known about the negotiations in Abu Dhabi

According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: Ukraine, Russia, and the USA have started trilateral negotiations in Abu Dhabi. Their start came after a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and American leader Donald Trump. According to reports, after their negotiations, US representatives flew to Moscow for a four-hour meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Main issues of the negotiations

The main issue at the negotiations in Abu Dhabi, according to Zelensky, is the territorial issue.

“The main issue that will be discussed in Abu Dhabi is the territorial question,” - said the President of Ukraine.

The Russian side insists on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas.

“Ukraine must leave, its armed forces must leave Donbas,” - said Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

In addition to the fate of Donbas, a sticking point remains the issue of control over the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos with sharp criticism of Europe, accusing it of indecisiveness, cowardice, hypocrisy, and double standards. He emphasized:

“If Ukraine is with Europe, and Europe is with Ukraine, then no one will wipe their feet on Europe.”

Separately, the Ukrainian leader questioned the EU's decision to send 40 soldiers to Greenland.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Belgium stated that the country would not transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.

“Belgium will not give it away, 80% of frozen Russian assets are held in euroclear,” - he said.
