President Zelensky’s Visit to Germany

According to Рубрика — Політика: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently traveled to Berlin, where he met with Bundestag President Yulia Klöckner. Their discussions focused on several critical issues:

  • Strengthening Ukraine’s energy infrastructure against Russian attacks;
  • Enhancing air defense capabilities;
  • Financial support for Ukraine in 2027.

During his visit, Zelensky also held talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, concentrating on winter aid packages and the delivery of air defense missile systems.

Military Aid and Financial Backing

As winter approaches, Germany has earmarked €11.6 billion in its federal budget to assist Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized the significance of this commitment, stating:

'We deeply appreciate Germany’s leadership in safeguarding our people, supporting our energy sector, and working together to hold Russia accountable for its war.' President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

This statement highlights Ukraine’s urgent need for international support to ensure its security.

Regarding expanded air defense aid, Germany plans to supply PAC-2, PAC-3, and IRIS-T missiles. Zelensky noted:

'We are doing everything possible to bring this war to an end quickly, but we must also be prepared to defend Ukraine and our sovereignty. I thank Germany for understanding our needs, and we hope the decision will be finalized soon.' President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

Additionally, Zelensky will participate in the Berlin Security Conference, aimed at coordinating security efforts with international partners. His visit underscores the vital role of global backing for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression.

This trip marks a significant step in strengthening Ukraine-Germany relations, particularly as threats from Russia intensify. Germany’s combined military and financial assistance is crucial for Ukraine’s preparations this winter and its continued fight for independence.
