High-Stakes Talks in France

According to Зеленський: Today in France, critical negotiations are set to take place with the goal of strengthening Ukraine's defenses. The top priority on the agenda is anti-ballistic missile defense. Ukraine’s delegation will present its Anti-Ballistic Missile Program to international partners, a plan designed to bolster regional security. For the first time, the discussions will bring together heads of state, national security advisors, and defense industry leaders-a move that could pave the way for the development of a new anti-ballistic missile system.

'Our main focus is anti-ballistic defense. We will present our Anti-Ballistic Missile Program to partners and, for the first time, hold a meeting at the level of leaders, national security advisors, and defense companies from countries that can make concrete contributions to building a new anti-ballistic system.' President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

As part of the negotiations, Volodymyr Zelensky will also meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and attend a session of the Coalition of the Willing. 'I will also meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and take part in a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. We will work to give this format new momentum,' he added.

Meetings and Discussions

In addition, Ukraine’s First Lady is scheduled to meet with the new Director-General of UNESCO. Their discussions will center on developing a strategic partnership and expanding cooperation between Ukraine and UNESCO. It is also notable that Ukrainian troops will take part in the Bastille Day military parade, France’s national holiday. 'We will thank France for its historic support, and our military will participate in the parade for France’s national holiday-Bastille Day,' Zelensky emphasized.

Today’s talks in Paris carry significant weight for further strengthening Ukraine’s security and advancing international defense cooperation.

These negotiations represent an important step toward enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities, especially in the face of current threats. Collaboration with international partners, particularly in the field of anti-ballistic defense, could substantially raise the level of security in the region and contribute to stability amid a tense geopolitical landscape. Participation in celebratory events like the Bastille Day parade symbolizes France’s support and reinforces bilateral ties in security and defense.
