Ukraine's Defense Forces Extend Strike Range to 1,750 km: Zelenskyy Briefed on Deep Strike Capabilities
A New Phase in Ukraine's Weapon Use
According to Главком: On April 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a briefing from Major General Yevhen Khmara, acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine, on a new phase in the use of Ukrainian weaponry aimed at limiting Russia's military potential. Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine's defense forces have more than doubled their deep strike range against Russian rear areas-from approximately 630 km in 2022 to about 1,750 km today.
Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries
On the night of April 28, Ukrainian defense units carried out a second strike on the Tuapsinsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region. The following morning, drones attacked an oil refinery in Orsk, Russia, located over 1,400 km from Ukraine's border. The target was the Orsknefteorgsintez refinery, which processes roughly 6 million tons of oil annually.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: 'The straight-line distance is over 1,500 km. We will continue to increase these distances, and these are entirely justified Ukrainian responses to Russian terror.'
Each successful hit reduces Russia's military-industrial capacity, logistics, and oil export capabilities. The results are clear to everyone. It is equally obvious that Russia must end its war. The time has come to move toward diplomacy, and Moscow should heed this signal. Glory to Ukraine!
The adoption of new tactical approaches and the extension of strike range reflect a shift in Ukrainian military strategy aimed at weakening the enemy's infrastructure. This could influence the conflict's next stages, as diminishing Russian army capabilities may accelerate the need for diplomatic talks. Moreover, these actions send a strong signal to the international community about the seriousness of threats stemming from Russian aggression.
As Ukraine enhances its military capabilities, the focus now shifts to the potential implications of Russia's forthcoming strategies. Understanding these developments is crucial, especially in light of the recent revelations regarding Russia's planned offensive and escalation of mobilization. Such insights could provide a clearer picture of the evolving conflict and the need for strategic responses.
