New SBU Operations Approved by Zelenskyy Following Annual Briefing
SBU Reports and Receives Fresh Mandates
According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reviewed the Security Service of Ukraine’s (SBU) annual performance report and signed off on new agency operations. The year-end assessment shows that fighters from the Special Operations Center 'A' now lead all SBU units in the number of successful strikes against enemy forces on the front line. This achievement underscores the high level of effectiveness and impact the security service has maintained amid the ongoing armed conflict.
Over the past year, the SBU orchestrated seven prisoner exchanges, bringing home 186 Ukrainians-mostly service members from Donetsk, Mariupol, Kharkiv, and Luhansk regions. In total, 1,429 individuals have been freed. President Zelenskyy highlighted the significance of these efforts, stating:

Exchanges and Diplomacy
Beyond military operations, Ukraine is also actively preparing meetings with European allies and the United States. These diplomatic initiatives aim to strengthen international backing and collaboration in countering aggression. In late May, Zelenskyy received an SBU briefing on operations targeting Russian intelligence networks inside Ukraine, signaling continued focus in this area.
The annual SBU report serves not only as a review of past achievements but also as a roadmap for future national security strategies. The combination of active prisoner swaps and international diplomacy reflects Ukraine’s comprehensive approach to addressing aggression-bolstering both the domestic front and support from global partners. This integrated strategy is likely to shape the trajectory of military operations and political initiatives moving forward.
In light of the SBU's recent operational successes, including the effective prisoner exchanges, it is crucial to consider the broader implications of Ukraine's strategic actions against Russian threats. For instance, a recent operation by the SBU targeted key Russian assets, demonstrating the agency's commitment to countering aggression.
