Change in the Composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Stake
According to Главком: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the change in the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Stake. According to the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 987/2025, General Yevgeniy Ostryansky was added to the Stake.
Experience of Yevgeniy Ostryansky
Yevgeniy Ostryansky has significant experience in the defense sector. He graduated from the Odessa Higher Military Combined College in 1993, and also:
- The National Defense Academy of Ukraine in 2001;
- The National University of Defense of Ukraine in 2012.
Prior to his appointment to the Stake of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ostryansky served as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since May 24, 2025. In October 2025, he was appointed as the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
In his new role, Yevgeniy Ostryansky, according to Rustem Umerov, will deal with military issues as well as coordinate all matters with the security and defense sector to strengthen the Ukrainian military. The change in the composition of the Stake is part of efforts to ensure effective defense of the country.
