Zelensky met with Sean Penn, who just received his third Oscar
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a meeting with American actor Sean Penn, who arrived in Kyiv. The Hollywood actor missed the Oscar ceremony, where he received his third statuette, to visit Ukraine. The president reported this on social media.
The head of state thanked the actor for his constant support of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia.
Sean Penn in Ukraine: meeting with Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the actor remains one of Ukraine's most devoted international friends.
The president noted:
«Thanks to you, Sean, we know what a true friend of Ukraine is. You have been with Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale war».
The American actor arrived in Kyiv on March 16 for filming and meetings related to supporting Ukraine.
Support for Ukraine by Sean Penn: what is known
Sean Penn has been actively helping Ukraine even before the onset of the major war. In 2021, he came to Kyiv to work on a documentary film about the Revolution of Dignity and visited Donetsk region.
After the invasion began, the actor repeatedly spoke out in support of Ukraine.
