Meeting of the President of Ukraine with the leadership of the SBU

According to Главком: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to discuss important issues related to special operations and the protection of statehood. The meeting included Major General Oleksandr Poklad and Brigadier General Denys Kylimnyk, who is the first deputy head of the 'A' Special Operations Center of the SBU. During the discussion, Zelensky emphasized the need to strengthen the power of the Ukrainian special service, noting that they discussed 'specific tasks and operations so that the Russian occupiers feel even more the power of our Security Service of Ukraine.'

Appointment of new SBU leadership

In addition to discussing current issues, the meeting also announced the appointment of Yevhen Khmara as acting head of the SBU following the resignation of Vasyl Maliuk. Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to Yevhen Khmara and all special operations soldiers for their significant combat work throughout all the years of full-scale war.

It should be noted that in the summer of 2022, Denys Kylimnyk received the title of Hero of Ukraine, which signifies his significant contribution to the protection of statehood. Additionally, according to decree No. 18/2026 signed by Volodymyr Zelensky, the structure of the SBU leadership was established, emphasizing the importance of organization and management in wartime conditions.

This meeting took place against the backdrop of the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine, highlighting the significance of strengthening special services to ensure national security. The appointment of new SBU leadership and the emphasis on utilizing military operation experience demonstrate the Ukrainian government's desire to adapt its strategies according to the situation at the front. These actions may impact the effectiveness of the fight against the aggressor and strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
