Zelensky's meeting with the US representative
On August 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with General Keith Kellogg, sent to the position of US representative for Ukraine and Russia.
Zelensky reported this on his social media.
According to the Ukrainian leader, President Donald Trump invited Ukraine and other European countries to Washington. 'This is the first time such a format of meeting - very serious,' Zelensky noted.
The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of a collective approach to ensuring peace in the region. 'When it comes to peace for one in Europe, it concerns everyone in Europe,' he wrote.
Zelensky also drew attention to the nighttime Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, as a result of which two children died and dozens of people were injured. 'People were just sleeping when the Russian army struck the cities,' the president reported.
Diplomatic negotiations
During the meeting with Kellogg, the situation on the battlefield and diplomatic opportunities for Ukraine and Europe in cooperation with America were discussed. Zelensky emphasized that 'Russia can only be forced to peace through strength, and President Trump has that strength.'
The President of Ukraine expressed readiness to continue to work as productively as possible to end the war and reliably guarantee security.
During the meeting of the President of Ukraine with the US representative, issues of peace in the region and future opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States were discussed, particularly in the context of countering Russia. Zelensky emphasized the importance of united action to ensure security and peace on the continent.
