Dismissal of Vasyl Malyuk from the position of Head of the Security Service of Ukraine

According to Главком: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada for the dismissal of Vasyl Malyuk from the position of Head of the Security Service of Ukraine. Malyuk resigned on January 5. Following his resignation, the president appointed Yevhen Khmara as the acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Statement by Vasyl Malyuk

In his statement, Vasyl Malyuk expressed belief in a just peace and the flourishing of Ukraine. He also noted that he is confident that a strong and modern intelligence agency is the key to the security of our state.

President Zelensky signed decree No. 18/2026, which establishes a new leadership structure of the Security Service of Ukraine.
